A term traditionally referring to the six grape varieties that are believed to produce the highest quality wines, known for their ability to maintain their character in different regions and their widespread appeal. These varieties include three white grapes and three red grapes: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir.
